The people of Gibraltar united to purchase a Supermarine Spitfire, a powerful symbol of their support for the war effort. A full size replica of this aircraft, proudly named “Gibraltar,” hangs from the ceiling of the Spitfire Hall.

R.E.M.E Chamber

The Spitfire Hall was once a workshop for the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers during WWII. At one time, it featured a two storey building, a gantry crane, workspaces and storage areas. It has now been refurbished and repurposed into an events space
